Dear School Owners, Instructors, Athletes & Families,
We are pleased to announce this years Tournament of Champions VIII will be held at Illinois Wesleyan University's $15 million dollar Shirk Center! This is a fantastic facility & we look forward to welcoming everyone to our first year at this venue.
One of the highlights each year is our Black Belt forms Grand Championship in which we award the Jr. & Adult Grand Champion a beatiful 6 foot trophy and $100.00 cash.
1st, 2nd & 3rd place awards will be given in each division and all competitors age 12 & under who do not place will receive a participation award. Events will be held Forms, Breaking , Weapons, & Olympic Style Sparring.
We have established 2 awards in tribute & honor of Mr. Doug Ketterer. Mr. Ketterer was one of my Black Belt Instructors, long time Student, and a very dear friend who suddenly passed away on Dec. 10, 2010 at the age of 45. Mr. Ketterer was a true representive of a Black Belt & of our school, never failing to step up to help wherever needed and is deeply missed by all who had the fortune of meeting & knowing him.
The first award is a $250.00 scholarship award and 6' trophy for Black Belts between the ages of 12 & 18 who display outstanding attributes of a Black Belt in all areas of their lives. The other is a $250.00 cash award and 6' trophy for adult Black Belts who greatly contribute to their school & community without monetary gain.
All applications must be submitted by May 16th. Submissions may be mailed or emailed to info@walkerskicks.com Please click Doug Ketterer Awards for details.
